Treks in Uttarkashi
There are more than 60 Treks in Uttarkashi district identified by the Tourism Department both in Gangotri & Yamunotri Valleys of Uttarkashi district. For the ease of the visitors these treks have been divided into 03 categories - Easy (Below 3500 m), Moderate (3500m - 4000m) & Tough (Above 4000m) so that based on the difficulty levels of the treks.
Gaumukh Trek, Tapovan Trek, Nandanvan Trek and Vasukital Trek comes under the Gangotri Natonal park and has a resctriction of upto 150 visitors per day.

All the Treks except treks in National Park
Indians - Rs 10 per member Foreigners - Rs 50 /- per member

Treks in National Park (Gaumukh, Tapovan, Nandanvan, Vasukital, Gartaang Gali)
Indians - Rs 150 per member Foreigners - Rs 600 /- per member

Details of Permission Letter will be sent on E-Mail ID used while registration.

Visitors of age 60 Years or above are required to upload Medical Fitness certificate while online registration. The same will also be checked at the Checkpoint of the Trek.
​
Applicants and all the members need to bring RTPCR Negative report not more than 72 hours old to get the permission.
Persons coming from outside of the Uttarakhand State are allowed to enter Uttarakhand after 15 days of receiving both the doses of COVID vaccine and after showing the certificates at the Airport / Railway Station / Border Check Post of the State. All such persons will be exempted from showing RTPCR / TrueNAT / CBNAAT / RAT COVID negative test report, but , it is mandatory for those persons to follow the SOP and COVID Safety Protocols of the Govt of Uttarakhand after entering the state.

This trek permission can be cancelled anytime depending on weather and road condition of the area at the time of visit. The fees is NON-REFUNDABLE in any case.

The meaning of Uttarkashi is Kashi of north; it is beautiful town of Uttrakhand state of India. Uttarkashi is situated at the bank of River Bhagirathi at an altitude of 1158 m above sea level.

Generally known as a holy place, the people of Uttarkashi are very religious it is spotted with multiple Hindu pilgrims.

Also known as ‘Shiv Nagri’ (Place of Lord Shiva) this beautiful town has a number of temples and ashrams and the locality is more or less religious.
